Hate Your Family?

Luke 14:26 says, “if anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple (NKJV). Does it really mean hate? If not, what does it mean? Our group was having a discussion about offenses and anger. How do we move beyond the things we feel so that we can bring healthy input to what could be a high level conflict?
